Mt Baker Tunnel to Westlake Center Seattle

The way points of this bicycle route:

Mt Baker

Starting here on the East side of the Mt Baker Tunnel, West side of the I-90 bridge. We are going to ride from Mt Baker to Westlake! The first couple of blocks up Irving are very steep! I often walk up to 31st.

Climb the stairs here to stay on Irving. Turn around and check out the view!

That short, silly climb is over, now its time to head North! Through Mt Baker and into Leschi we go, taking 31st all the way. If you know a good place for coffee around here, let me know.

Leschi

Hey, Frink Park is there on the left! Very worth a stroll! As you bomb down Jackson, enjoy the reasonable sized bike lane while it lasts and watch out for potholes and road seams that start to show up after 12th.

Pioneer Square

That was quite the urban descent, huh? Now you are in downtown, keep your head and watch for opening car doors!

Downtown

Slooooow climb up through downtown.

Westlake Center! Remember when Pine was closed to cars here? That was nice. Nice riding with you!
