The way points of this bicycle route:
up and over using the sidewalk; light traffic here, but still best to watch
this is a busy line, so you might be in for a wait if you're unlucky; if in a hurry, backtrack to Bird Ave., go North to Park Ave. which has an underpass beneath the tracks
either direction, it's useful to have a major grocery store along the route
around here, the neighborhood really starts showing what a character that I associate with Santa Clara; anyway, note the car parking inside of the super-wide bike lane
parking inside bike lane ends
wacky cool; I keep on meaning to visit and check out the exhibit; anyway, get ready to move across the lanes into the left hand turn lane onto Naglee Ave.
well, I didn't promise you a rose garden, but I gave you one anyway
if you're uncomfortable riding the road through the underpass, there is a ramp up to sidewalk coming off of the little side street here
watch out for Mall traffic
in case you want to pop into the Apple Store in the mall, or perhaps cool your heels in ritzy Santana Row just South across Stevens Creek
start navigating across traffic towards the left hand turn lane in order to get to Pruneridge Ave
this is an excellent cycling road that will take you all the way to Wolfe Rd. in Cupertino
if you want to go to one of Silicon Valley's best coffee roasters, you could turn South here for a backroads cut down to Barefoot Coffee Roasters
this was the alternate ending that I tried today; it's pretty low key, but the climb that is coming up made my out of shape body huff and puff
switching down to smaller ring
it's sad that that teensy climb had me so winded...need to keep doing it in order to fix that
look at all of those cars!
this gets you around having to deal with crossing Wolfe Rd.
if there wasn't that darn wall here, you could cut across immediately to Merritt Dr
there's a walking trail alongside the mall road here, in case you want to feel like you've ridden some "trails" along the way
if you are fond of shortcuts and it isn't full of trucks, you can cut behind the strip mall here, otherwise, navigate around front
use the sidewalk to get over to Infinite Loop
