The way points of this bicycle route:
On street parking at the start.
Climbing really starts here where you turn right along the A4069, taking over the Brecon Beacons. The bedns are winding, never steep but, relentless. But, the views from the top are fantastic.
Some tight hairpins on smooth roads before the road levels off to follow the River Sawddle and then (after a right in Llangadog) the Rover Tywi to Llandovery.
Climbing for some 12km to Trecastle, this climb is not particularly steep, just soul destroying if you are not fit ;)
A relatively flat run into Sennybridge, after which you turn right for another long climb back over the Brecon Beacons, then a flying descent down to Glyntawe and Abercraf - offering great views of the valley as it opens up in front of you.
The cream teas at the Old School Restaurant are superb.
