Ride up Ohlone Park Hearst St to UCB
Turn Right South, Skirts S. Side UCB
Enter UCB start of Climb elev. ~210'
Go up behind UC Stadium to enter Strawberry Canyon. Follow Centennial Dr up to Lawrence Hall of Science.
Lawerence Hall of Science. Optional visit. Enjoy turn out View of Bay Area
Turn Right Grizzly Pk. Elev. ~1260 Yeah only 400' left to climb. (Note 11/1 to 3/31 turn left and enter Tilden via Shasta road as S. Pk Dr. entrance to Tilden is closed to protect Newts. Also it is all downhill to Shasta use as Option if you want to do less climbing)
Tilden Park entrance. S. Pk Dr. (closed 11/ to 3/31 to protect Newts). [Alt route when closed turn left at Grizzly PK/Centenial to Shata RD. Take Shasta Road into Tilden to E Pk Dr].
Minature Steam Train. Summit Take a ride. Turn into Park on S Park Drive. It will be downhill for a while. Highest Pt 1652'
Turn East (Riggt) to Reach Inspiration Pt
Wildcat Pk elev 1211' to get here may entail some hard packed dirt road riding. Also many options from this point to continue North on Skyline road or Fire Trails
Inspiration PT. Entrance to old US Army Nike base. Traverse scenic Bay Area Skyline Ridge Trail ~ 2mi to Wildcat Pk

20 mi loop that has scenic views of the Bay Area, Golden Gate Bridge, Mt Tam and Mt. Diablo. The route starts at BART station that has free parking on weekends The route winds up through the beautiful UCB campus, Strawberry Canyon behind UCB Stadium, Lawrence Hall of Science (Optional stop) then on to Grizzly peak blvd. Turn right to Tilden Park entrance. S. Pk Dr. This is the highest pt in climb 1652’ (Option .3mi further on Grizzly Pk is the Miniature Steam Train.) --Note S. Pk Dr closed 11/1 to 3/31 to protect Newts. Alt. turn left on Grizzly PK to Shasta RD. Take Shasta Road into Tilden to E Pk Dr. Route traverses Pk Dr to Inspiration Pt (old Nike base entrance). Following the Skyline Ridge Trail for ~2 miles to Wildcat Peak elev. 1211’. There are fantastic views of Bay Area and Mt Diablo. Return back through Tilden and take a fun ride back down Euclid Ave to UCB. Return to BART. Moderate/steep hill climbing from UCB to Tilden Pk ~1400’. After Option- great restaurants in Berkeley.
